Is this build newer than 21501 and 21502? I just don't get it... the build number is smaller.

Just installed this on my O2 XDA Zest. Works perfect! Thanks Very Happy

edit: One thing - there is no Task Manager. If I try to open it via \Start\Settings\System I get the error:

"The file 'taskmgr' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstallign"

    Hi,

it works fine... but if do not change intrface /theme and so on/. Camera dont work - when I turn on the camera, the display become fuzzi - like lost sync.
I can't see the battery level when I tap on the battery icon.
Colors of task bar changes randomly from black to color of scheme or transparent /when I change theme for example/.
    ACC format do not play.

Well... if You can, please remove the ASUS things "Ezi", and if posible "cook" the minimal and "strip" WM.

    I estimate highly You work!

    Hi,

    Excuse the noob question but could someone confirm;

    # this is compatible/designed for a standard o2 xda zest?
    # is there a risk of bricking the device if flash fails or does it have some safety mechanism in the bootloader etc?
    # can the stock rom being re-applied (rollback) for warranty etc?

    cheers and thanks in advance!

    1. Yes, it's running on my XDA Zest very nicely
    2. Yes, there is always a risk of bricking the device, but I've been flashing windows mobile for about 5 years and it's never happened to me.
    3. You'll need the original O2 ROM, either by finding a copy lying around the internet (which may prove difficult), or dump the ROM from your device first (See: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_HowtoDumpRom)

    thanks for that.
does a rom dump have to be done, I have the recent o2 firmware update saved so presumably I could run that if i needed to rollback?

I haven't looked at the firmware update for the Zest. If the update is simply a ROM image, then you should be able to restore from that. Problem being that the update may not apply as it is probably expecting the O2 customised 6.1 image

Try launching the firmware update utility, and when you will be one click away from starting, look into folder with an update utility. You will probably have a hidden file named tmp_rom.abi, save it to somewhere safe, and then cancel an update process. That file is all you need to restore the original ROM.

    when I run the update [Xda_Zest Firmware Update_V7.7.0S.WWE20.00_M4.6.5.P7_V2.1.4 GBR20.exe] the only files that are extracted prior to actually starting the update are;

    # 258,048 LogoResource.dll
    # 999,424 RNDISModule.dll
    # 23,040 Xda_Zest Firmware Update_V7.7.0S.WWE20.00_M4
    .6.5.P7_V2.1.4 GBR20 USA.dll

is there any way of getting the actual rom (.nbh) from the exe?

    cheers,

Yes, I tried there, it asked for a serial number to validate...
But, never mind. Serial number of my P565 worked. Smile
If anyone interested, the direct link is:
    http://www.o2.co.uk/assets/O2HybridNav/Static-files/myXdaDownloads/Xda_Zest_Firmware_Update.zip

Anyway, as I said, you should've clicked "Next" a couple of times, until "tmp_rom.abi" appeared in your directory, and then save that file and cancel. I tried, and it worked.

Though, if you're still having problems, try to download the file here:
    http://rapidshare.com/files/241894898/GM5_Zest.abi.html
It should be enough to revert your Zest to official firmware.

thanks for that, but where does the "tmp_rom.abi" get extracted to, is it just in the same dir as the exe or elsewhere?

    cheers

Yes, it is in the same directory.
It is also hidden, just like the three dll's you mentioned.
