First WM6.5 cooked rom for DX900 in the world !

Here are some screenshots from the first ACER DX900 Cooked Wm6.5 rom

Procedure :
extract the file
format sd card with FAT
copy file to SD card
press rec+power+reset till bootloader is shown
wait for completion
Then press power+reset to boot

Note :
On boot u will see that the OS version is garbled.This is due to fact that the file is patched with magic bytes informed as per Cyril's instructions.This is to make safe so that no on brick their device.

Ext ROM cabs are modded in such a way that one is aked for every cab to have an option whether to install or leave it.

When extracting the Temp.dat, I saw the 'PREI_PowerConsumption_Patch_noreset.cab'.

Is it the same version as the included with WM 6.1 ACER DX900 ROM's ?

which rom version is this for? can you make one for version 602?

feedback for 6.5:

- Calculator won't run (application failed to load required components...)
- There seems to be a memory leak... memory is consumed over time...
- Other than that it's doing great... still testing though

Is the net framework installed?

hmmm... after looking at files... .net cf 3.5 is in the \windows directory... so, it's built in...

i think there's a problem with netcf in this version. i cannot run any app that requires it. even if i install either netcf2 or netcf3.5 in phone memory sd card. i hope it will be fixed soon. i really like the way it performs.
providing the kitchen would also be nice

Here my little list with items I have noticed yesterday.
(Don't know if these are microsoft bugs or an ROM bugs)

Device: Eten DX900 (originally NLD 378 installed)
Previously installed ROM: eten WWE 610

Already known is the issue with the directional buttons.
This has to my opinion highest priority.
then the .netcf issue.

Solved is the active sync issue: untick the [PC to USB] tickbox.

1) Connection to the SD Card, keeps on getting lost in the mediaplayer.
Every time I start the mediaplayer, the library doesn't show my music stored on the mediaplayer. The SD card is not available in the mediaplayer. But via fileexplorer, I can select the SD card.

2) When using the 6.5 Todayscreen, it doesn't react on the GSensor. If once switched to landscape, it doesn't switch back to portrait. whene using the startbutton, the icons are blurry. But the G-Sensor does work here, and after a few times flipping from portrait to landscape, the icons are shown correctly.

3) Connection gets lost sometimes during phonecall. Phone freezes.

4) have to reboot very often, caus' messgae appears [out of memory]. Then the screen is shown, stating [select program to close] but there is no buttons to acknowledge the selection. only a reboot let me continue using the phone.

5) Picking up a call with the OEM headset, is not possible via the button on the headset. must be done using the buttons on the device

6) The ringtone for phone 2 (via settings>personal>phone2) is not played. When chaning ringtone in this screen a soundsample cannot be heard. It works fine for phone1. I also noticed, that for phone 1 the number is displayed in the header, for phone 2 this header only shows phone2. no phonenumber is shown.

7) As already stated by oldSAP, the .netcf is not working, resulting in a non working calculator, bt also other tools, like the htc cleanram (from htcaddicts) is not working. (errormessage states, it expects the .netcf on the sd card?)

This is the small overview. I will remain using the WinMo 6.5. Even with the limitation mentioned. But how can hdubli fix our errors, if we all go back to 551,553 or 610 or even sth else.

okay... I have managed to make things work for apps that require net cf.. the built in net cf is 3.7... I installed 3.5 and used netcfcfg.cab from modaco.com

you just have to assign the apps to use 3.5 manually using the netcf configuration tool then the apps will run fine.

Finally, after the third day of using this device, I only got to see how this device is a resource hog for the program memory... gwes consumes 16mb of RAM! whoa...

I'm cannot downgrade back to officerom OS_Acer_A147.040.0553_WWE_WM61
It's show not compatible . So,If I want to do back , How I can do that ?

Hello , i upgrade my acer dx 900 with thise win 6.5 rom, but the usb syncronization is doesnt work.After i put back this "Here is the link of the ROM in case one wants to go back without any much hassles to stock ROM

How can i take back my original rom, please help me !

hello

nice job with this ROM but there is some bugs
1- when any body he need to call you he disconnected him after 8 sec and tell the connection is failed
2- when you need to answer any one you cant answer him from the answer button on the screen only you have to use the answer button with same phone
3- the missed call its not show you the how call you in line 1 or 2
4- the button for scroll down or up its not working only lift go to up and right go to down

that's bug for now i hope i retrieved a reply from you
