ROM Release 21234

Helo All,

the file shows verion 21231, bcos of type, but the actual FLASH.BIN inside is of 21234

nothing except the new kernel..they say it is towards more stability.
I removed Voice Command and added themes instead.Anything else if needed pls inform

Is the call-log bug fixed in this release?

Hey hdubli,

Great work, wanted to update on one critical issue. The phone call after a day or two just stops working, meaning the green button does not take me the the call screen, neither can I navigate there from phone on the screen. The really sad part is that there is no indication of this and once this happen people trying to call you will hear the phone ring but you get nothing, nothing even shows up as a missed call. The rest of the phone works as normal.

The other issue though more minor is that missed calls don't show up correctly.

The problem goes away when you reboot but using this phone for office makes it a big problem, will try this new version before I go back to stock.

Some of the people there have requested for a working M2D version, I haven't tried the one you have posted. Am on the 21/4 release.

Similar issue is known to me and a simple solution is that(when u press call button and no dialer appear) is to press call end button, it kind of resets the phone and brings u to Date and Time on Titanium.Then u press Call Button and u are able to see the dialer.No need to Hard Reset.
These small bugs are due to non complaince between 6.5 SYS and Asus OEMs.Call history, dialer skins MMS SMS all have dedicated Asus dlls which are coded to work with only 6.1 kernel.So I have removed all registries related to these and made it in a such a way that Phone pert is completely on 6.5 SYS.
Pls follow this and let me know.I will then again look into the OEM part of Asus p320

The issue was on the 21/4 release, I haven't tried the other releases. Am about to flash the 21234 now. Will post back post that. About the registry editor I have posted an alternative link on the blog.

Thanks for the update Hdubli, its nice to know that there is a reason for the same and not due to some erratic behaviour of the device. I will definitely post back on this after a couple of days of running the ROM.

I was on the 21/4 release prior to this. Very clean install, The BIN installed itself and then triggered the installation of the sms fix and the honeycomb start menu so no need to struggle with the install anymore if you had problems with the sms

The calls / missed calls are working as of now but typically its start misbehaving after a couple of days for me so need to check.

SMS has been working, never had a problem with this even in the past.

Overall the phone seems to be faster though I don't have any metrics on the same.

MMS - don't use so don't know

The dial pad look has changed a bit with the numbers a little smaller, looks like the dialpad I have seen on a HTC, am guessing its got to do with the point made by Hdubli on moving away from the asus dlls ?

The GPRS nicely installed itself automatically like the last release but this is possibly network dependent. It is also working fine.

googlemaps works fine but yet to test the GPS as I have been indoors.

Bluetooth with my computer working perfectly fine, been able to sync and transfer.

I have just installed the this new version and it's damn fast!!!

Found issues:
1. there's no MMS!
2. i can't browse my \Windows folder from Windows Explorer!
3. no Black theme.

Testing in progress...

This ROM is blitzy.. very fast. Found it quite stable.

Issue - No MMS.

Also, Please build a version with M2D. I remember you saying this in XDA forum. I am sure many would be looking for a fast and stable M2D verison.

Hey..thanks for the ROM

Been using it for around an hour now.

Found a couple of issues.

First..selecting clock in the new today menu leads to comm. manager being listed on the right softkey, which actually links to clock settings.

Second..Camera quality, which was hugely improved in the 4.13 release (IIRC) and was equally good in 4.15 is now completely crap. Focusing takes a long time, and even then the lack contrast and bright colours. Adjusting the settings in camera menu has limited effect.

Please see if you can use the camera DLL from one of the later versions of the ROM.

Missed call is still messy, really need a fix for that. list gets old number. Please need a fix.

as hdubli said, we must wait for ASUS OEM dlls for WM 6.5, then everything will work

GPS catcher problem - fixed! after 2 days of non use..... it started to work.

now i have diffrent problem - my gprs connection dissapeard from list, same as WAP . but its not big problem

@hdubli - can you tell us about chance of getting final WM 6.5 at P320 ? will it be working ?

Hello, Thanks hdubli, I want to thank you for great work on this rom, however, I have 2 issues :

1. I noticed that the battery doesn't last as long as your previous release, actually, if before it held me for 2-3 days, now it barely lasts me a day
and
2. This is more of a question rather then a problem, is it possible to have the phone support exfat (fat64) as file system for the memory card?

All the ui is in 6.1 style, I tried applying the new 6.5 themes, but i still see the same old 6.1 like menu's and lists.

I had to revert to 21202 which has been the most stable of your builds for me.

Other than that issue, this new build is very fast.
If you can let me know how to fix this issue, I would be very grateful.

If you use ASUS* themes, you will have the classic 6.1 UI. The other themes installed by default works fine and have the new UI style... I have tested it.

I had the same issue faced by you. I flashed it again with the same build. It worked like a charm.

I tried switching themes, but it wouldnt let me, i tried both a soft and a hard reset.

I ended up going back to 21202, as it's been very stable for me so far.

To fix the theme issue just download pureblack2 theme from XDA web site, it will solve your problem

Guess I forgot to mention, I also tried two custom themes, which I had downloaded off xda, but i couldnt switch to them. I was stuck with the same old 6.1 ui.

Also, When i uninstalled the 'Honeycomb fix' from 'Remove Programs', i ended up having no start menu at all. Pressing start would do nothing.
