I am currently starting work on cooking a p320 rom on build 23420 and need some help on the following .

    1 ) Beta testers .
    2 ) Build 23420 p320 xip and oem files .

Anyone interested ? Please PM me . Thank you .

    Notes :
    1 ) Estimated release of proper rom : November 2009 .
2 ) Build of rom when released may be newer than build 23420
3 ) Rom is made for the orginal ( non-locked by telephone operator or hardware modified ) Asus P320 . May not work with other locked or hardware modified versions of the phone . ( Software modifications other than bootloader is ok ) .

    Hi cccy,
I am sure I can surely be a Beta tester. Not worried about my bricking my P320 at all although I am very very sure that it won't be happening at all. Smile

Regarding XIP and OEM folders, I guess you need to look a bit more. Hope someone experienced comes up here and provides us a lot of help. We would looking forward for some hugely active participation. Till then, take care and have fun cooking the build. I am sure we would have a very tasty ROM presented very soon before us. Very Happy

    +1. I'd beta test too.

As for the xip, you could use the xipkitchen from xda. Use the xip from hdubli's kitchen as donor xip.

And for the OEM, you could dump one of hdubli's roms or the asus original.

I'm trying to make a rom as well, after a lot of reading from xda.
Maybe we can help each other out, if we come across problems.

Oh great cccy. That is just super news. Can you share the alpha build with us too. We would be more than happy to brave all the odds and test it perfectly. Cool

Well, here's a toast raised to you for bringing life into this forum and giving us the joy of sharing. Thanks a lot for that. Can't wait to lay my hands on it. king

    Dear cccy,

Great news, it would be great if you could share how you managed to cook the ROM. Some of us have tried without too much success. I am quite keen on learning, what did you finally put into the XIP ? I got stuck in running buildos ...

    Cheers,

Good to know you've managed to cook a rom cccy!

I'm having some trouble in the BuildOS level, but i think my xp install has something to do with it.

Anyways, waiting to test your rom!

P.S: A couple of screenshots would be nice Smile

    Post  smart2smart Sun Nov 01, 2009 8:04 pm

I have noticed that in the above kitchen and even in Hdubli's posted kitchen. There was a nb0 file of around 3 MB. However when I try to extract the nb0 from a cooked ROM I end up with a nb0 file size of roughly the same size as the flash.bin

    What am I doing wrong.

I made my own XIP to put in it . Currently the rom has lots of major bugs and has to be delayed . Sorry . I am not a good cooker . I will post a link of the files I used either today or tomorrow for others to use . Hope someone can make a proper rom out of it as mine is near crap . Meanwhile , I shall try and make the rom work properly asap and release it .

No problems. At least you had put in your best of efforts and kept us really happy. That is what's important at the end of the day. Cool

Would you be sharing with us the bugs in the ROM. Someone of us might as well know the solution to solve it soon enough. Till then have a good day and enjoy.

That NB0 is just a template... like an header for the final ROM.

But I didn't get your idea... You already have all files in the folders SYS and OEM... why do you wanna to extract that NB0?? I got the doubt if you know what you wanna do... You want more files??
To start building the ROM just execute the .cmd file in the root.

With this kitchen you can remove some packages from origin ROM.. OR add a new ones... like M2D.. Google is the answer..
Don't try to add previous existent files, because it usuallty returns an error, and, during the cook, THERE SHOULDN'T BE NO ERRORS!!!

I suggest you to have some more reading over the internet.. it's never enough... neither for me...

Before "do it", understand "why do it"...

    Hi there,
You seem to have a good basic knowledge about cooking and might be even advanced. Would you cook a ROM for us please and then tell us the right way to do it in a short and simple way. The earlier cookers and moderators have just left the forum for dead. Even tried to contact them from various other forums but they just wouldn't reply. At least one thing's for sure, those guys have left their P320's for dead. Hence the inactivity. Hope you would be able to help us with the cooking. Urgently waiting for your saving grace. Smile

    Hi Eveyrone,

Not to undermine anyone's efforts but out of desperation, I made a request to hdubli to cook the latest build for P320 users and he obliged.

Should be up in a few days and I hope the chefs here can then request more information so that we are contant supllies thereafter.

Sincere apologies if I offended anyone by doing so.
